The ride into the campground was a strenuous 1.5 km. Mostly downhill. In fact, it was a pretty steep downhill!
I had tons of time to pick a site as it was only 11 am and the place was empty. It's funny how hard it is to make a decision when the choices are numerous. I must have looked like an idiot wandering back and forth to all the empty sites trying to make up my mind. Anyway, after setting up, I checked out the surroundings then headed out for a little ride. I checked out the "Old Bridge"

and then road back into town for some sightseeing. I went back to the outdoor store where the owner found a flimsy bike tire for me as a backup. It's a 700 by 38 which is a good size, but I hoped that I wouldn't need it. Just the same, 20 bucks for a little piece of mind is cool for sure.
Felt great to have a day off and just veg. I was a bit concerned about the ride on the Duffy Lake Road to Pemberton tomorrow, thats why I planned my rest day here.
A young German couple settled in near by. The guy had a T- shirt with bikes all over it so I just HAD to go talk to them. Also, she was pretty hot which helped as well. They had 3 weeks to camp along Vancouver Island and other BC spots like Lillooet.
Anyway, I had beer to ingest and the block of ice that I purchased helped in making said beer tasty as friggin hell.
Damn it's hot here!
Home base is Highwaycat approved.
Bike friendly camp. Love it. Wish there was more
