Shuswap Doo Wap Pow

Salmon Arm happy fun farm - Lamplighter campground Revelstoke
Day 7,  Lost my damn stats ! They must've blown out my who-Haw. Approx 105km
Tue. May 24
Left Salmon Arm early this day. I thought my clock said 7am. but it was a 5. Just as well, wanted time to run errands in town.
Got some supplies, and had time to talk to the Parks People.
These people are gods ! Well, not really, but they did, however offer some usefull advice to me. I was planning to head over Rogers Pass tomorrow and through Glacial National Park. Apparently most campsites are not open yet and some are snowed in with 8 feet of snow! hmmmmm... Also, they suggest cyclists to go around the snowsheds / tunnels for safety... What ?!...
It should be a fun filled, action packed episode, stay tuned sports fans...
Anyway, the ride on this day was easy. It was a mix of rolling gentle hills with a healthy compliment of twists and turns. Along the way I saw lots of road-kill which is not really a fun aspect of this trip.
Once I arrived at Revelstoke, I quickly set up camp and rode into town (a few km's). Tried to find a suitable spare tire at "Skookum Cycles", but I was outta luck. Nice shop though. I did, however find a replacement Swiss Army Knife, Woo Hoo!
I met 3 young lads with loaded bikes headed to Winnipeg or someplace near there. I would never have entertained a trip like that when I was that age. Good work Lads ! I hope you made it ok. No pics, Dammitt.
Lamplighter Camp is a nice little spot that boasts free wi fi, nice shower house, a kitchen (which, I used for intergoogling, I picked a site sheltered by pine trees yielding a dew free tent for the morning pack-up. I had a fire this night to enhance the experience. People in their RV's were whatching the
Canucks game. They beat the "Sharks" judging by the screaming and cheering.
Go Canucks Go !... I'm not really a hockey fan but got caught up in the excitement.

OK, .,.,.The photos loaded in a F***ed up order. I hate Blogspot . I waste so much time on this crap. sigh...
Not the standard roadkill that I normally see on the highway. This beast probably died instantly and without pain. The colour is still vibrant and the texture is good.

Wi-fi and kitchen area at Lamplighter Campground

Nice town. I like Revelstoke. Similar to Banff, but without the bullshit cost.

Me at Lamplighter site...

My site. Nice.

On route to Revelstoke I found some odd touristy things. There was a big castle and treetop walkies. Cool, but no time to investigate. Highwaycat wanted to go but was affraid of the tree monsters.

Neil Young grew up here.

Nearing Revelstoke...

Weirdo

Scenery from early in the day (like I said, the pics loaded in a shuffled order)

This Bed & Breakfast had some good deals, but lacked substance.

I stop at structures like this whenever I can... I love structures like this. mmmmmm structures !

A lovely timepiece, yet told bad time. Hmm

Bad parking
My rude sketch depicting me and my replacement Swiss Army Knife that I purchased in Revelstoke.

Me at Shuswap Lake. I'm "on gaurd" for some reason.
