After hitting the local Starbucks for breakfast, I forged up the longish hill to access the highway, and goodbye to yukky Kamloops. ( In your face Mark Madryga) Global Channel Weather Guy. Mark
Anyway, fantastic road conditions ! Yaaayyyyy. Tail wind too! My bike was light on this day. I stopped at a little gas station for fuel and sandbox depository near town of 'Pritchard" I think. Anyway one of the locals was outside chatting it up with the checkout girl. Lets call him Farley Mackracken Forty-Niner is Finer.
He ( F.M.F.N.F.) asked me if I was "Push'n Wind" I paused, then said " I got me an old fashioned tailwind, I do !" He just nodded, and with a slight grin he shuffled off. I got on my steel ride and headed East again. I looked around hoping to see Stephen King in the shadows. Nope.
Entering Salmon Arm, I realized that there's not much picking in the camp department. I ended up blowing $20.00 at a water park/RV Park/Tent Dive/-Dirtbag- R- US . It sucked, but there was beer 250 feet away, showers too, oh ya, and free screaming kid noise... I love "Screaming Kid Noise" mmmmm, screaming kid noise...
The Gods must be crazy !
The things that you see from a bike's point of view...
A break near Pritchard. I meld in nicely with the locals. |
They don't make'm like they used to...
A cyclist's dream road...I love it when they cut the shoulder away and fill any remaining space with Traffic Cones. Like a Sunday roll through the local botanical garden with flowers in my hair and hockey cards in my spokes.
Lovely signage
Quality camping...NOT.
Actually I met some nice motorcycle people. (they're people too) One of the more curious of the species came over to my site for a Q & A session. The camping equipment that motorcyclists haul is truly amazing. The little trailer that they pull turns into a castle. Cool.
Another view of my awesome site
