From Roosters to Rigs

Day 3, Pathfinder Camp (Agassiz)-Alpine Canyon (Boston Bar)
102 km., 18.4km avg. Saddle Time, 5:32
( I'd include heart rate/calorie stats etc, but the damn thing died on me) CRAP !

How sweet it is to wake up to the Rooster's belch. ..I love it. "And Mister Moo Cow, "good morning to you too !" Sure beats the metallic clashing racket of the garbage truck in the alley outside my window !
The ride on Hwy 7 to Hope was stellar ! But as soon as I veered up Hwy 1 before entering Hope BC,  life got tricky. The shoulder was filled in with loose gravel and it was a long climb with the long weekend  ya who's. Nasty.   I had to stop a few times to let trucks go. Grrrr.
Once it cleared up,  it was nice.  Highway 1 plows through the Fraser Canyon . This is a beautiful and amazing piece of BC.  It's mind boggling to imagine how they constructed this route back in the day, or, more importantly, how they built the rail line on the other side of the Mighty Fraser, Tunnels and all. ( many chinese workers died constructing this engineering marvel. I Passed through several tunnels. It wasn't until the 7th tunnel that I realized the my bike shoe had developed solemolithithilosus ( the sole came away from the shoe) Luckily, I had changed pedals before I started this trip to accommodate runners (which I also brought, luckily) Otherwise, toast would be served. I like toast, but not this kind.
Now, I realized that I left my nice " Rucksack Swiss Army knife stuck in a tree back in Agassiz) Rats.
A nice tip for the stingee Korean camp owners. " You giv me 2 dolla frr showwa !"

Anyway, nice spot here at Alpine Canyon. Just past Boston Bar. Really sweet Phillipino girl assistant. I got a site way up top so I could peer down on the peasants. Those folks sure need gear. Highwaycat commented on how much gear that camp folk need to survive. ( trailers, ATV's, satellite dishes etc.)  I told her she best be quite l'est them folk hear ya and find rope...
I'm not a member, but they liked my cat, so they gave me a coupon good for pharmacy products and palm reading.
A town with mining history but very few humans left to tell the story.
No Wi Fi access either.
These tunnels were pretty good.  I rode slow or sometimes walked on a narrow sidewalk opposing traffic. Some tunnels had much more debris on the path than others., I only saw only 1 "Tunnel Beast " Holy crap, did he ever smell something Evil !
A clean TUNNEL...
Hang'in out at the backside of a tunnel. Car people can't do this. Sweet.
NEXT...
Wow, I'm surprised that cyclists are this well accommodated. I guess that enough cyclists sacrificed their lives.
Blown shoe. Uh Oh ! And I didn't bring "Shoe Goo". Crap.
I love Hell...
I fine site looking down on the peasants...
Solar Power Goooood !...
Only Day 3, and I already have things pissing me off...

 Hwy 1 Fun.
