CAMPING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDD !!

Day 25, Rest day #2 in Whiteshell Prov. Park (West Hawk Lk. Campground)
06 11 2011

Was nice to sleep in a bit and wake up not having to pack and plan the agenda. Correction: It was AWESOME to have no destination. I'm not tired, but it's just nice to hang out for a tad. So, after getting up around 8, I had a nice hot shower in one of the several fancy coin operated super-sterile showering units and headed up the road for Coffee !! and a big ham/cheese Omlette, Brown Toast and Hashbrowns with O.J and Bacon !
The outdoor patio in the sunshine was the perfect venue for this all too human pastime ! HWC has no clue. The resident cat was walking around the deck taking in all the sights sounds and smells that this morning had to offer. I was mezmorized by the cat's slow methodically graceful movements, also, the sun was in my eyes.  I took the day off because the camping is only $11.00 (cheapest so far). Also, the weather was great, Beer, Coffee & a Restaurant is nearby. I thought that I should have "fresh legs" for my assault on Ontario as well. After breakfast, I checked out a short scenic walk that took me up above the grounds for a view of the layout. Then I went to the beach to improve my sunburn and get some veggness. Didn't last long. A mom and her kids plunked down right beside me. Something special about this sector of sand ? ...I moved to another area to a bench for some sketching. Bumped again. RRRRR. Turns out that I'm not a "people person". More of the "Mad Max" type, but with a stuffed toy cat.
Anyway, a great place to stop. Was quiet at first, but it turned out to be quite the boating hub. The area was buzzing with pickup trucks pulling boats with people hauling coolers, you know the scenario...
Tonight we celebrate, In the morning we invade Ontario !!

Everything is called "Meteor". because the lake is a result of an ancient meteor impact.

Shelter for emergency vehicles. The design helps to confuse UFO's

Boat rental area. Calm now, Busy later

I love these signs. They are seen throughout the entire Prov. Park

"Walk" is accurate. This was not a major hike, but was nice to use my feet for a non-cycling activity

HWC loves camping, but prefers the open road
