PROVINCE #7
07 03 2011
A very solitary ride today. My latest start to date (10:30). Almost no services for 100 km. Sunny and humid at first...As I rode onward, I noticed that the road got wetter and wetter. Then I saw the lightning, I was heading into a storm. Well, it rained hard and soft all day with some mixed wind, sometimes heavy. I put HWC below deck and rolled through the quiet, beautiful park like landscape. As I neared civilization, the odd sighn of life appeared, one was in the form of a restaurant near the border to N.B.
A welcome sight and also my final Quebec stop . I celebrated with Hot coffee, soup and hot chicken sandwich to silence my shakey chills. After lunch, it was back into the pouring rain and across the bridge into Cambelton N.B. It Felt awesome to cross a bridge into my new province ! After loading up on cheap beer I hit the Tourist Info Center and was blown away by the quality service. It has been so long since I spoke to someone who understood the ENGLISH language. The young girl was so professional and helpful that I didn't care about the rain. It sure made Quebec look like a separate country. (isn't that what they want anyway...?)
I was directed to the "Super 8" for a discount.
So happy to be in New Brunswick. Feels great to enter a new Province.
