Today's ride was a bit challenging. Either I'm soft from the recent low mileage, or the hills were significant. I think it is the latter. Many long climbs today especially through "Terra Nova National Park"TERRA NOVA My legs are a bit sore.
It was threatening rain all day but stayed dry. Miracle. I had the wind for some of the day, but it moved around a lot. I guess that I had enough filtered light as my face got toasted. I passed a bike traveller heading West. I wanted to talk, but the traffic was too heavy to cross over. We just did "The Wave" I found it interesting - he's just starting his journey while mine is coming to an end. There is so much ahead for him. It caused me to reflect back for a moment. He was pulling a fully stocked trailer and I think he had stuff on his bike too.
It was nice to find Clarenville. The Visitor Info guy sent me to "Restland" Motel. After setup I headed back up the hill to "Kung's King' for Chinese Buffet. Slimy but volumizing. Ha Ha....
There was a loud gathering at an empty parking lot near my motel. The annoying racket penetrated the walls of my motel room. I went to investigate. There was a "Rock" band spewing Christian Crap. There must have bin 250 cars gathered. Everyone stayed in their cars and listened through the car stereos for an enhanced God like experience. They would honk horns in support. Disgusting, pathetic display indeed. Lemmy (Motorhead)said it best... "You Bet Your Life Ya know I don't Need Religion" Motorhead
One note of significance : All through this Great Rock I have received more support through honking cars and waves from motorcycle riders than anywhere else in Canada. Friendly folks indeed !
Looks like I might see the sun for the first time in NFLD tomorrow...
Highwaycat approved morning road...

There was actually a guy setting up a hot dog cart when I was leaving. Bizarre.

"One and a two and a three..." Ha Ha.
Crime scene.
I see a lot of road kill, but sometimes I see the aftermath of a major kill zone like this. Usually a large area of stained tarmac and a trail leading to the shoulder. There was more, but I would need a wide angle lens. (This is a simple point 'n' shoot camera.) Mostly moose kills. Moose come out onto the hwy at night. It's a sad situation. Cars kill sooooo many animals and judging by the hundreds of roadside memorials, a few humans too. tsk. tsk... carefull out there people, your car is a weapon.
Like I said...
Hilly section
HWC salutes the long downhill
Rushing water makes me ponder... "We are all on the move" Dumb thought, but I'm just a bloody cat.
