Stats erased again! crap I hate this cyclometer. While pushing my bike up Chippewa trail, I grabbed the stem to sustain a balanced bike. (pushing the cyclometer for 2 seconds erases stats. I gotta move it to the handlebar. GGGRRRR.
DIST. google says 135km, But I think it was closer to 160km as I was riding for at least 8 hours @ 20 k/hr(I was out from 8 to 5:30, inc breaks) We'll go with Google.
Was nice to escape the infestation. It was a pretty good ride to Sault St Marie. On route, I found cloudy skies and a little rain. There was nothing to look at for a while, then I came across a very creepy house. Creepy enough that I didn't draw my Kodak. A very run down abode with blackness for a main window and a clear view of a single lightbulb hanging in the centre of the window. I'm at least 150 feet away and oddly enough, I could here the voice of Homer Simpson. Very creepy.
An important landmark was in my sights next. "Chippewa Falls"
This represents my Halfway point of the trip. I got some pics, but the damn plaque was stolen. Luckily, a couple arrived and the woman had a homemade "halfwaypoint plaque" to display. She let me hold it for a pic. Very Cool !! What are the odds of meeting someone with a home made sign at that instance ? Crazy luck ! They were driving across Canada. Fun also, but no pain and uncertainty.
Riding along further I saw a microwave tower. This reminded me of my father. I can remember him talking about "The Soo", as he would drive an ancient 26 ton tower truck out this way to visit these towers for Bell Canada. (its now in the science and tech museum in Ottawa) Science and Technology Museum Ottawa If he were alive today, I know that he would have a story or two to tell.
I didnt enjoy the Sault. The roads were terrible, and the traffic was intense. I was looking for the Tourist Info Centre and couldn't find it. (I didn't put a lot of effort into the search as hunger often trumps thought) I found a "HARVEYS" though, Sweet ! Cheeseburger with extra pickles, fries, hot dog and coffee. We only have 1 or 2 Harveys in Vancouver, so, this was a treat for me.
The remaining ride to Bruce Mines was Shitty. 60 km of bad roads and headwinds. Cobblestones would be an improvement. I was very happy to arrive at home base. A small quaint motel called "Boppers" Nice price @ $55.00 .I hit the liquor store for Beer, got a little room at the motel, had a shower, then dialed in a sweet dinner (Chicken Parmasean)
This town is smaller than I thought. 600 humanoids. Very little here. Just as well.

No photo, so I did a quick sketch. Scary "Homer House". There was nothing around when I passed this creepy house. The main window was black with a single light bulb hanging. "The Simpsons" was blasting loudly.
